Mr Lukas was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Sydney Gas on 19 March 2008 following significant success achieved in the coal bed methane businesses of AJ Lucas Group Ltd. He is also a Non-Executive Director of A J Lucas Group Limited which is the largest shareholder of Sydney Gas.
Mr Lukas has over thirty years experience in the pipeline and drilling industry across the USA and South East Asia. In joining the Lukas family business in 1975 as a Project Manager, he then became General Manager in 1977 and Managing Director in 1988.
He pioneered the development of Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) in 1990, commencing operation of Australia's first rigs. He has developed A.J. Lucas to its present position as a world market leader in this specialised field; he is recognised as Australia's leading authority on this technology.
He has also contributed to A.J. Lucas becoming an industry leader in long distance gas and water pipeline construction, Horizontal Directional Drilling, Coal Seam Gas, Civil Construction and Facilities Management.
Mr Harper has more than 20 years experience in the energy industry. During this time he has held a number of senior positions ranging from electricity trading and risk management through to the retailing of electricity and gas and extensive involvement in the management of infrastructure including gas, electricity and water networks, power stations and high pressure gas transmission pipelines. He has also served as a director on a number of energy company boards and as president of the Australian Pipeline Industry Association.
Prior to this he gained experience in the information technology and construction industries. His early career and training was in Charted Accounting where he had exposure to a variety of businesses and established a strong foundation in finance, systems and processes. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of New South Wales and is a Charted Accountant and fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Frank Krstic has enjoyed a distinguished legal career spanning 20 years, with over ten years' experience in the energy, mining and resources law sector. He was formerly Corporate Counsel for the New South Wales Department of Primary Industries and the Department of Energy Utilities and Sustainability. As Corporate Counsel for the DPI and the DEUS, Frank regularly advised and briefed Ministers and Heads of Department on a range of energy and mining related activities.
Frank is a graduate in Law from the University of Sydney. He also holds an Arts (Economics) degree from Macquarie University and a Masters degree in Environmental Law from the University of Sydney. He has a depth of experience in Environmental, Planning, Commercial, Administrative, Occupational Health and Safety, Tort and Contract Law.
Gilbert Leung has over 20 years of extensive management experience in both Australia and overseas. In the last 10 years, he had held senior finance positions taking charge of corporate accounting and financial planning functions in various local and overseas listed entities in Sydney. Gilbert held various management positions with a number of international finance corporations including Manulife, the Fuji Bank (now the Mizuho Financial Group) and CITIC group, and was a senior manager with HSBC Group in Hong Kong before commencing his career in Australia.
A qualified CPA, Gilbert holds an Honours degree in Business Administration and is an AGSM MBA graduate and a recipient of the Commonwealth Postgraduate Course Award. His other finance-related qualifications include a Master degree of Science in Applied Finance, a Master degree in Professional Accounting, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Banking & Finance.
